Although there is a clear distinction have been made between mental and physical health, The two suppose complement to each others instead of mutually exclusive.
We always focus on what to consume and how to consume somethings in order to make our body healthier. Undeniable, the substance or outside factors are important to our body health but it only one part of it. We must focus on overall of it instead of one part of it.
Mental is important to our physical health and this cant be maintained by any substances. Long long time ago, physical care and mental health care have largely been disconnected. Under current situations, more and more people are suffering from mental problem instead of physical health problem. According to research, people with highest level of distress were 32% more likely die from cancer. And the chance of one person getting coronary heart disease is higher if suffering depression. The main reason that lead to this problem is the person who suffering mental illness is less likely receive physical healthcare that entitle to and less likely make positive adjustment to the lifestyle.
Luckily there are solutions for this problem. If you want healthier lifestyle, please don't do the things that list out below:
Don't do:
- Smoking
- drinking too much and too regularly
- Exercise regularly. Our brain may release one substance named endorphins that can make us feel good and make us feel more positive about the life.
- Give up smoking or reduce smoking rate. People who suffering depression is more likely to smoke
- Have healthy balance diet. Good nutrition can influence the way we feel.
